Bacabal is a city in Maranhão, Brazil. It is located at around 4°13′30″S, 44°46′48″W, some 250km south of the state capital São Luís. The city proper has a population of 74,700 (IBGE}} 2005 estimate.

    This is a large store full of clothing, electronics, appliances, shoes and more. Lots of friendly help. About 2 blocks from a decent hotel. City is busy remodeling the square out front. Small shops / stalls line the street to the right in this photo. The main business district is on the street in front. Summer 2008
